Dare To Evolve

In a Nutshell…

I believe, inherent within each and every one of us, lies a being so noble and so gifted, that it bursts at the seams with such brilliance as to be a beacon of light in the darkest corners of sorrow, a healing salve from the most tormenting prison of pain, to have the power of unending hope in the face of grave calamity.

Fitness today, while trying to address our total well-being, seeks to fix what is perceived as broken or missing and build up from there. Dare To Evolve seeks to unearth what is already present within, yearning to be laid bare, that we might reach for the heights of our greatest potential, as we grow deeper.

Through years of development and the culmination of deep study and experience (failures and success’s both), I have created a portal to a path that allows us to do just that. Using optimal fitness, and the resulting access to a vibrant, invigorating and fulfilling physical vitality, as a vehicle to unveil the essence of who you are and the immensity of the unique gifts you have to offer the world around you.

Together, you and I, will break out beyond the chains of perceived limitations. We will  move towards the gift of our utmost capacity. Because we dare…..we dare to evolve.

The Shift.

The worldwide collective consciousness that revolves around improving oneself is at epic levels. And why not? Finding greater fulfillment and happiness in our lives are core factors driving the decisions we make, the challenges we face and the success’s we experience. They’re also rising in value and holding greater weight, with “social norms” no longer able to so easily push them aside.

We live at a time that is undergoing an immense transition from the way the world has “worked” for the last few generations:

  • economically
  • socially
  • technologically
  • industrially

We are thus needing to redefine our place in it and what the value is that we bring.

With the kind of access to information now available, many more than ever before are able to take those active steps to do so, rather than relying on someone else to dictate to them what their value is. That is putting the power back in our hands as individuals and as members of the communities we are a part of to create the meaningful changes we wish to see in our lives.

But there is so much information out there, it’s an overwhelming prospect to just start!

Which can seem insurmountable when thinking about overcoming the:

  • pain and discomfort
  • dissatisfaction
  • depression
  • sense of helplessness
  • low energy
  • frustration
  • sleeplessness
  • low self esteem
  • anger
  • … to name a few

we feel in our lives.

Straight to the Heart of the Matter.

Because that’s where it starts. The heart. At the core of who you are is an incredible gift to the world. One that only you can unveil. In those moments when we feel the

  • heat in our chest
  • fire in our gut
  • intensity of inspiration
  • exhilaration of joy

we catch a glimpse of that gift’s potential. But only a glimpse, as it won’t stay still for long. It’s energy is so great it can’t be chained down. Our ability to harness it, however, can. Harnessing it is what happens here at Dare To Evolve.

The Missing Link.

There are two primary modalities currently at the forefront of this modern self improvement wave. There is the “Self-Help” stream and the Fitness stream.

Self-help  resources and those that teach them have exploded over the last decade, turning it into a multi-billion dollar industry. It is not uncommon to walk into a household and see various copies of self-improvement books lining the shelves. It’s so prolific now that one could say “Gurus” grow on trees. Much of what is shared is good information, with a few stand-outs leading the pack. The approach generally tends to be via addressing the mind:

  • Unlocking mental blocks
  • deconstructing mis-construed perceptions
  • discovering unconscious thought patterns
  • creating a framework to re-wire it all

The main difficulty with this approach is using the very source, that is causing us difficulty in the first place, in an attempt to change it: the mind. It can be done, but easily turns into a convoluted path.

Now yes, the leaders of this pack also speak to the need to connect to emotion, essentially what lies at the heart of our motivation, but there is no real systematic way to nurture it. Most importantly there is no physical practice to tie it to. Why a physical practice? Because through the movement of our body, there is movement of emotion, freeing up movement of the mind.

The Fitness industry has been slowly, but steadily, changing it’s tune over the last decade, recognizing not only our need but our desire for more than just a shapely butt, nice legs, chiselled chest or bulging biceps. The transition has seen it become about Health, Wellness and Lifestyle. It speaks to training for the mind, body and soul.

Which is amazing right? Shouldn’t it all be about more than just the surface “features” we develop?

Trouble is, most fitness professionals don’t have a means to translate the benefits of physical training into supporting the growth and development of mind and soul. They know moving the body is key, without a doubt, to the whole package of evolving our entire being. Outside of the scientific reasons that back doing so, most fitness professionals, as “movers” themselves, intuitively understand the space it creates for themselves and those they train to improve their lives.

Yet despite all the lingo being used about “fitness to enhance mind, body and soul”, the approach is still in large to do so by:

  • lose a ton of fat in the next 30 days
  • build the chest and arms of a superhero
  • Tone up to get the shapely legs and butt everybody wants

From this also lies the greatest risk of falling into a common trap. The trap of promoting the transformation of your physique as the source of developing self-confidence and self worth. To say that in achieving the ideal physique (as dictated by the industry itself) will be the source of your value in this world.

Which, while maybe well intentioned, couldn’t be further from the truth.

There needs to be more than just the surface. Without the internal process to match the external, it becomes a vicious cycle of starts and stops, of defeat,  inadequacy and feeling unfulfilled. Sound familiar?

Bridging the Gap.

At Dare To Evolve, we use the platform of physical training (being grounded in what we instantly and tangibly feel as we come up against the tension and resistance generated over years) as the vehicle for developing the innate qualities within us. By consistently and systematically tapping into those qualities, nurtured through a budding intuition, we start interacting with our unique gifts regularly, gradually turning up the dial on the energy building as we harness the essence that lies at the heart of who we are.

Harnessing the gifts that reside at the heart, we melt away from the inside out those chains and anchors that have been tightening their hold.

Physically vibrant, driven by the very heart of motivation, we can now access with greater effectiveness and success all the mind has to offer us as we strive to the heights of our capacity.

Dare To Evolve brings that elusive bridge to connect the path that will see us step into the immensity of our strength and power, unleashing on the world the gems of our utmost potential.

It Only Takes One…

… one you, one me, one us.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…”

Dare To Evolve sprang forth from my journey to step outside the bounds of my perceived limitations, to challenge the status quo, to face my fears head on, to explore the far reaches of my utmost potential, to increase my capacities, natural gifts and innate strengths, that I would be of greater service to those around me: my children, my wife, my family, my friends, my community, humanity. And most importantly, to share it.

It only takes one step, one choice, one day, one quality, one goal, one action, one moment for the evolution to ignite in our life.

Yet far too often we feel like we’re in this alone, that no one else struggles with the seemingly insurmountable tests life throws at us the way we do. We feel like we have to do it on our own, and the weight of that paralyzes us into inaction. It takes:

  • courage to step into the unknown
  • compassion to do it again and again
  • strength to face fear
  • perseverance to create momentum
  • and daring to go it alone.

Only, as you very quickly find out, you’re not alone. You just sometimes have to be the first to leap.

“…..As we’re liberated from our own fear,
our presence automatically liberates others.”

-Marianne Williamson-

Dare to leap, it only takes one.
